Fish soup and ban mian specialist at Albert Centre
Shan Hu Fish Soup and Ban Mian is a dual-concept stall at Albert Centre Market & Food Centre, offering two beloved Chinese comfort dishes from a single unit. The fish soup features sliced fish in a clear, milky broth made from fish bones simmered for hours, often enhanced with fried egg, tomato and ginger to create a nourishing, warming bowl. The ban mian, or hand-torn noodles, are served in a similarly comforting broth with minced pork, mushrooms and vegetables, the irregularly shaped noodles providing a pleasing, rustic texture. Both dishes represent the essence of Chinese homestyle cooking, simple ingredients elevated through careful preparation and quality stock. Albert Centre on Queen Street is a well-patronised hawker centre, and Shan Hu serves the lunch and dinner crowd seeking a wholesome, satisfying meal. The dual offering means diners can enjoy either dish or order both to share, making the stall versatile for different cravings. For those who appreciate the clean, restorative qualities of good fish soup or the hearty chew of handmade ban mian, Shan Hu delivers both with consistency and care at hawker-friendly prices.Operating hours not available

Yvette
I previously requested the red rice wine chicken noodle without chicken, with extra vegetables and egg, and the stall owner obliged. On my recent visit, she gave no egg and fewer vegetables, claiming this was always the case, which is untrue. I won’t return due to her dishonesty.
