Traditional wonton noodle stall at Bendemeer Market, serving classic Cantonese-style bowls.
One Ton Mee is a wonton noodle stall at Bendemeer Market and Food Centre that keeps things straightforward and satisfying. The stall serves thin egg noodles tossed in a savoury sauce, topped with plump wontons filled with minced pork and a few slices of char siew for good measure. The wonton skin is smooth and delicate, giving way to a well-seasoned filling that pairs nicely with the springy noodles. A bowl of clear soup on the side completes the meal, its light broth a gentle counterpoint to the more intensely flavoured dry noodles. It is the kind of humble, dependable hawker dish that needs no embellishment, just honest execution and consistent quality, which is exactly what One Ton Mee delivers day in and day out.Based on 92 Google reviews

Mediocre noodles. $5.5 for a small bowl with meat and sauce close to non existence for a kolo mee. The meat is also too salty, leaving a thirsty aftertaste. Not sure what standards does the food bloggers used when recommending this

Came at around 1.30pm, no queue. Chilli is nice and spicy. Noodles is not too dry.

The Sarawak kolo mee was quite good, with the noodles being nice and springy. However, it is a bit pricey at $7 for the large bowl. Since this market or food centre tends to be quite busy, it might be tricky to find seats if you are coming in a large group.

A run-of-the mill breakfast? Visually, this small bowl of wonton mee (S$4.50) with lean char siew and vegetables, looks quite bland and not too appealing. But wait till you tuck in - it actually packs a wallop and tastes pretty good! …
