Northern Thai tomyam stall at Berseh Food Centre serving authentic spicy and sour soups with herbs and fresh seafood.
Northern Thai Tomyam at Berseh Food Centre brings the vibrant, aromatic flavours of northern Thai cuisine to one of Singapore's most established hawker centres. The stall specialises in tomyam soup, prepared with the characteristic balance of spicy, sour, and herbal notes that define the Thai version of this beloved soup. Fresh lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and bird's eye chillies form the aromatic base, while seafood and meat options add substance and depth to each bowl. The northern Thai influence is reflected in the stall's use of dried spices and a slightly different flavour profile compared to the more common central Thai tomyam found elsewhere in Singapore. Berseh Food Centre, located along Jalan Besar, provides a gritty, authentic hawker setting that complements the rustic, punchy nature of the food. The stall has garnered a following among those who appreciate Thai cuisine beyond the usual pad thai and green curry, offering a genuine taste of Thailand's northern culinary traditions in a no-frills Singapore hawker environment.Based on 222 Google reviews

Had option 1 (NT Tomyam Soup) with rice and it was really good! Flavours of the soup were strong without being overwhelming spicy. A mix of fresh and fried fish slices were given, both were juicy and did not have fishy smell. Aunty also gives you a spoonful of fried bits that soak up the broth, adding a nice mouthfeel as you eat. Portion may be feel a bit small for big eaters but just nice for the average person with space for a drink/dessert after to spare.

Very good. The tom yum is tangy and creamy a bit different from the usual ones. Fried fish was crispy even if I soaked it in the soup.
