I recently visited MA MAISON in Bugis, and while the atmosphere and service were pleasant, the food didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I ordered the Beef Stroganoff Butter Rice, which was wrapped in a soft omelette and served with a rich brown sauce. The presentation was nice, and the dish was definitely hearty. The beef in the stroganoff was tender, and the creamy sauce had a good flavor. The butter rice was decent, but overall, the dish felt a bit too heavy and lacked the wow factor I was hoping for. What stood out during the meal was the quirky service touch. After finishing my meal, the waiter handed me a small key, instructing me to take it to the cashier when I was ready to pay. It felt a little out of place but also kind of fun like unlocking a hidden treasure after your meal. It’s definitely a unique experience I haven’t had at other places. The ambiance at MA MAISON was cozy and the staff were friendly, which made the overall experience comfortable. However, for the price, I expected a bit more from the food. While I wouldn’t call it bad, it was more “okay” than spectacular. Overall, it’s a nice spot if you’re in the area and looking for a casual meal, but it’s not one I’d rush back to unless I’m in the mood to try something else on the menu.
