Amoy Street hawker stall dishing out traditional char kway teow with wok hei, cockles and lard.
Fried Kway Teow at Amoy Street Food Centre is a hawker stall dedicated to a single dish: char kway teow, the beloved Singaporean stir-fried flat rice noodle. The stall fries each plate to order over high heat, achieving the prized wok hei (breath of the wok) that imparts a smoky, charred aroma to the noodles. A generous serving of ingredients accompanies the dish, including fresh cockles (see hum), Chinese sausage (lap cheong), crispy pork lard bits, bean sprouts and scrambled egg, all coated in a dark, savoury-sweet sauce. Diners can request extra chilli for added heat or a milder version to savour the natural sweetness of the sauce. Located at #01-01 on the ground floor of the food centre, the stall draws long queues during weekday lunch hours when CBD office workers flock to Amoy Street. Open only on weekdays and typically packed by early afternoon, Amoy Street Fried Kway Teow delivers an authentic, old-school char kway teow experience that keeps traditionalists returning for the smoky, indulgent flavours that define this iconic Singapore hawker dish.Based on 79 Google reviews

I come here for my ckt fix every time I come back to Sg. Still as good as I remembered.
Bernard Chua
Noodles were well fried with wok-hei infused, slightly charred, and flavourful. Each bite had a good balance of sweetness from the dark soy sauce and savoury richness from eggs and chinese sausage. Satisfying as its neither too oily or too dry.
Tan David
It is a bit wet to my liking. For $4.50, it is worth. There are sausage, fish cakes, cockles and egg. Added an extra egg for $0.80. Skip the lime. It doesn't help to enhance the flavour.
Case Woo
A warm welcome to the 2nd gen stall owners. Generous portion decently fried for $4. Noodles are nice and gooey moist, well balanced in sweetness and flavor, but noticeably more al dente than last time, which I don’t mind and would do well …
