Flavours Of Malaysia At The Line, Shangri-La: Penang Chefs Take Over From 13 July
The Line at Shangri-La Singapore is running a Flavours of Malaysia buffet from 1 July to 5 August 2026, and the second half of the run is the part to plan around. From 13 July, guest chefs from Shangri-La's sister property in Penang take over the Malaysian section of the buffet, bringing the island's Char Kway Teow, Asam Laksa, and Prawn Noodle Soup into the international spread that The Line is known for.
Lunch is S$68++ per adult and S$34++ per child (6 to 11 years old). Dinner is S$98++ per adult and S$49++ per child. Shangri-La Circle members can knock up to 30% off weekday lunch and dinner, and signing up for the free membership is the easiest way to cut the bill if you are going on a Monday to Friday.
The two phases of the buffet
The first phase, from 1 to 12 July, covers general Malaysian regional dishes. The official menu lists Beef Brisket Rendang, Ayam Percik, Ketam Masak Sarawak Lada Hitam, Nyonya Babi Pongteh, Klang-style Herbal Bak Kut Teh, KL-style Dai Lok Mee with seafood and crispy pork lard, chicken and lamb satay, Jalan Ah Loh BBQ chicken wings, ikan bakar, grilled river prawns, chicken Ramly burgers, plus freshly prepared tahu bakar and you tiao bakar served with rojak sauce.
The second phase, from 13 July to 5 August, narrows the focus to Penang. The visiting chefs from Shangri-La Penang bring Penang Char Kway Teow cooked live, Asam Laksa, Prawn Noodle Soup, and Kiam Chye Ark Soup. The Line's international buffet runs alongside both phases, so if someone in your party is not eating Malaysian, the usual seafood, roasts, and sushi stations are still there.
The Penang dishes to hunt down
Shangri-La Singapore's own social posts highlight the live-cooked Penang Char Kway Teow, smoky ikan bakar, crispy Nyonya fried chicken, comforting Kiam Chye Ark, and tangy Penang Asam Laksa as the dishes to look for in the second phase. The dessert station closes out the meal with Pulut Hitam, fried banana, and Ais Kacang, plus an assortment of traditional Nyonya kueh and chendol.
The Line is one of the longer buffet lines in Singapore, with nine live stations and a multi-national kitchen team, so the Malaysian promotion is effectively an overlay on a substantial existing spread. That means the per-head price is steep for a weekday lunch if you are not a Circle member, but the 30% discount brings it into line with other hotel buffets in the area.
Getting there and booking
The Line sits at the Tower Wing, Lower Lobby of Shangri-La Singapore at 22 Orange Grove Road. The nearest MRT is Orchard, which is roughly an eight-minute walk to the hotel entrance. Lunch runs from 12.00pm to 2.30pm and dinner from 6.00pm to 9.30pm, Monday to Sunday, so the buffet is open through the weekend without the weekday-only restriction some hotel restaurants impose. Reservations are via SevenRooms, by email to dining.sls@shangri-la.com, or by phone at 6213 4398.
If you are a Shangri-La Circle member, the weekday discount is the main reason to go Monday to Friday. If you are not, the free sign-up takes a few minutes through the link on the offer page, and it unlocks the same pricing for lunch and dinner across the promotion window.
